I’ve been writing since I was a kid but ended up branching off into biology and environmental science in college and in my career. I have done a lot of technical writing and editing for environmental manuals and documents during my 30-year civil career. I have written several fiction books and branched out into editing when I created Firedrake Books, LLC, a small independent publishing company. I am currently freelancing as a fiction editor in my spare time.

BS in Biology with a minor in English/technical writing (1990) – University of Mary Washington, VA

MS in Environmental Science (2004) – Virginia Commonwealth University, VA

MA in English and Creative Writing (2016) – Southern New Hampshire University, NH
